Kids Helping Kids! - Tsunami Relief Fund
Cheyenne W. searches her pockets and her family and friends' hearts for coins to help the tsunami relief fund. "There are so many children that need our help. They need food and clothing and I want to do all that I can." This 6th grader and four year member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove has been moved by lessons of character and compassion.
Starting on Monday, January 17th, the members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove will be pitching in little by little to help children on the other side of the world. Coin boxes will be placed at 16 program sites where kids will have the opportunity to help other kids by donating all that they can. Each penny represents a moment of hope for one of the estimated 1.5 million children affected by the tsunami.
"By acting in America, Boys & Girls Clubs have a long history of saving young lives. By giving generously -- and by acting now -- we can do the same for young people on the other side of the world," Roxanne Spillett, President of Boys & Girls Clubs of America explains. With the effort of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove, combined with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, we hope to raise $1 million as a Movement. Boys & Girls Clubs of America also seeks matching funds to double our impact.
