Garden Grove, June 1, 2005 - Have plans for the summer? Interested in dance, art, sports, cooking, or even space? Check out the new activities the Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove has to offer! The Clubs are launching a new summer program with sessions designed to meet the interests of youth today.
Starting on Thursday, June 9th, children and teens all over Garden Grove can sign up for Summer All-Star Camps at five different Boys & Girls Clubs locations. Specialized clinics in a fun day camp style environment vary from an introduction to flag football and baseball, to creative drawing followed by art museum trips. World cooking, H20 Fun, Polynesian Dance, Space Exploration and even opportunities for high school students to tour local colleges will be offered. All camps include at least one field trip.
"This summer members will be able to participate in focused camps that meet their interests. They will be supervised by experienced staff and have the freedom to test their skills and try new things in a fun and safe environment," Executive Director Addie McHale explains. With the more diversified programming, the effort to reach more youth today in a positive manner has a greater impact.
