NikeGo Clinic Hits a Homerun at the Club
Excitement rose at Main Branch on Wednesday as the NikeGo team set up for a baseball clinic that was attended by 116 Club members from all over Garden Grove. Boys & Girls ages 7-12 participated in stations designed to improve the fundamentals of baseball. The stations included hitting, running, and throwing with accuracy.
Nike Go believes active kids are happier, healthier and more likely to make positive life choices. They cultivate great working relationships with schools and non-profits to help propel kids in the right direction by designing a series of programs specifically for youth. These are physical programs created for kids, by kids. They supply the ideas and insights and with the partnership we have with NikeGo we have the means to make it happen.

All the members and volunteers looked sharp in their new NikeGo shirt and the members played with brand new equipment which NikeGo donated at the end of the clinic.
"The equipment is much needed as the Clubs enter into training for the county wide RBI baseball league starting next month," explains Addie McHale, Executive Director. "Some of the kids were so impressed with the equipment they were asking if they could take it home!"
Major League Baseball player Jorge DeLaRosa from the Mariners also stopped by the clinic to give the members some extra encouragement. He feels with hard work and dedication your dreams can come true.
The goal of the afternoon was not only to instruct on some fundamentals, but to inspire kids to be active - to move, to GO - and become empowered to make positive life choices along the way. Members were asking to keep playing at the conclusion of the clinic. Together we are one step closer in increasing physical activity in youth by offering children the motivation and means to help them discover the joy of movement and the fun of physical activity.
Thanks again to NikeGo, Kathy Webb and Tim Mulrooney from Nike U.S., Community Affairs, and Home of NikeGo; Beaverton Oregon. Thank you for making a difference with the way we play in Garden Grove!
