Operation Teddy Bear

TeddyBears06.gifThe Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove was named the recipient of the Garden Grove Education Association's "Operation Teddy Bear." Every year, the twenty-three hundred members consisting of teachers, librarians, and nurses collect new teddy bears to donate to a local organization. This year the Association collected over 400 teddy bears that will be distributed to Club members and youth served at the new Children's Health & Dental Center which opened September 2005.

This first of its kind Center in Orange County is conveniently located adjacent to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove," said Pat Halberstadt, Chief Professional Officer. "Our local Club has a population of 5,000 children and families who can easily make use of and benefit from the services provided."

Made possible through a joint partnership of the Children and Families Commission of Orange County, Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), the Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove and Healthy Smiles for Kids of Orange County, the Children's Health and Dental Center of Garden Grove opened its doors to the public on August 29 and is located at 10540 Chapman Avenue in Garden Grove. Hours of daily operation are flexible to accommodate working families. For more information about health, counseling or dental services call:
