Message from the Chief Volunteer Officer:
 

As we move forward in the coming year we need to continue to build on our successes over the past 50 years. The partnerships we have built with the Garden Grove Unified School District, Garden Grove Police Department and City of Garden Grove gives us an advantage in reaching those who truly need our help. Our afterschool and family support programs, along with our core BGCA (Boys & Girls Clubs of America) programs help to ensure our goal that every family in Garden Grove has access to the resources they need to be safe and healthy.

As Board members we play a very key role in insuring that the Club continues to grow and remains a positive place for kids. Key points that the Board has the responsibility to provide the Club are:
 

• Trusteeship:  Responsible for all Club actions, from protecting the mission to ensuring public accountability.
• Planning:  In partnership with the chief professional officer (CPO), participate in setting direction for the future.
• Policy and Evaluation:  Policies that govern the Club’s daily operations, from programs to human resources.
• Resource Development:  Exercise fiduciary oversight AND assist in raising and contributing money for the Club.
   

As President I want to encourage every Board member to Be Great and be an active part in insuring that we are doing our part to support the Club and fulfilling the mission” to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
