The members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove at Cook Elementary are proud to be a part of this amazing opportunity. As an after school program located in an elementary school, we were glad to participate in this collaborative effort that showcased both our origami skills and humanitarian spirit. We made 86 paper cranes out of love and thought to the people of Japan. We hosted a "Help Japan" crane party and invited families, community donors, and administrators to participate. We had a great turnout and the members had a wonderful time. On behalf of the members, families, and our school I would like to extend my gratitude in allowing us to be a part of the fundraiser.

The intense pressure and negativity so often found in youth sports had been replaced by sportsmanship and positive encouragement. The volunteer coaches gave pointers in the dugout, but more importantly, gave these kids a place where they felt they belonged. And a place to just be kids.
