BGCGG and The Cody Waters Foundation Host Memorial Ceremony Tree Planting Dedication and Christening of Cody’s Garden Garden Grove, CA– On Thursday, April 22, 2010, Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove (BGCGG) and The Cody Waters Foundation hosted a commemoration in memory of Cody Waters, celebrating his life and birthday with a tree planting dedication and christening ceremony of Cody’s Garden. The event started at Enders Elementary with a tree planting and was followed by a garden christening at 5pm at Edgar Branch. Cody attended Ender Elementary and Edgar Branch since kindergarten. In 2008, at the age of 9, Cody’s life changed when he was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer. On March 14, 2009, Cody Waters lost his fight against cancer. Because of Cody’s positive outlook before he passed, The Cody Waters Foundation was created. The foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds to donate to organizations and families that help children with cancer. Donations have been made to organizations such as CHOC, American Cancer Society, Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and Make a Wish. Those who would like to make a tax-deductable donation (Tax ID# 26-3755059) may mail a check to The Cody Waters Foundation at PO Box 5115, Garden Grove, CA 92846.
