BGCGG Participates in the Pepsi Refresh Project

GARDEN GROVE, CA, October 4, 2010 – Since February, the Pepsi Refresh Project has made an impact on people, organizations and communities in the U.S. and Canada and Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove (BGCGG) is hoping to extend that impact to our local community.  Throughout the month of October BGCGG is competing for a $50,000 'Pepsi Refresh Grant' to fund BGCGG’s Family and Youth Outreach Program (FYOP).  This past June funding was severely cut for this valuable program and now the organization turns to our community.

Here’s how it works:  log on daily during the month of October and vote for FYOP!  You can vote every day! The winner is based on the amount of votes we receive so spread the word: send e-mails, post it on your Facebook and share it on Twitter!  

In 2010, Pepsi will grant more than $20M in grants. So far, more than 200,000 lives have been positively impacted by the Refresh Project. This number is expected to increase dramatically in the coming months as more grant winners complete their projects and more grants are given by Pepsi. Help us bring success and services to our community.

FYOP offers individual, family, and group counseling, educational classes, truancy reduction services, referral services and other diversion programs for youth and their families. FYOP serves youth who are having behavioral issues at school or at home. We also work closely with their families to ensure that the appropriate services are given to meet their child’s needs. In 2009-2010, FYOP served over 2000 at-risk youth. Help us save this community asset by voting now, and every day during the month of October.
