During the week of April 13-18, 32 teams from different BGCGG Sites competed in an Academic Decathlon. Each team consisted of 3 grades: 4th, 5th, and 6th grade.

The event kicked-off with a spelling test. Members were also tested in Geography, Science, Math, Social Science, Literature, and Language. After scores were tallied, top spellers from each grade advanced to the live spelling bee that was held on Saturday, April 18th.

The Saturday began with a wonderful opportunity to tour Cal State Fullerton and attend a seminar in which they asked a panel of students questions about student life. Members then headed to the Don wash Auditorium at Garden Grove High School to compete in the last portion of the Decathlon: Music, Art, and Super Quiz (Sports). The event concluded with the live spelling bee.
