The essay was written by 11th grade student and BGCGG Club member Raul G., who wrote about why his Spanish teacher, Mr. Urzua, deserved a classroom makeover. According to Raul, the classroom had holes and disrepair everywhere, with "visible holes about the size of a tennis ball." More importantly, he stated that Mr. Urzua consistently tried to "make the classroom look pretty so he won’t be embarrassed to come to parent open house." Today Santiago High School has a little extra something to flaunt and take pride in. The classroom has high-tech computers, clean walls, and a new air conditioner. Students can learn and engage in a relaxing atmosphere with proper equipment that will enhance their educational experience. Additionally, Mr. Urzua generously shares his classroom with Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove for after school programming. Club members have a Positive Place to do their homework and enrichment activities in a state-of-the-art technology room.
