CLASSES:
“We Learn Together” Classes
In our "We Learn Together" classes, parents (or other caregiver) work with their child on learning activities under the direction of the Readiness on the Road staff. Caregivers learn different types of activities that they can recreate in their home that will help prepare their child for school. By participating in "We Learn Together", caregivers can develop an even more loving, teaching relationship with their child.
Over the course of twelve classes, parents will be working together with their child on many fun learning activities, as well as practicing effective parenting strategies that will help prepare their preschooler for success in kindergarten.
Parent Education Classes
The Parent Education classes focus on health education, parenting skills, child development, safety, literacy, etc. School Readiness Nurses conduct health screenings such as hearing, vision, and dental on children to identify hidden health problems that can interfere with a child's ability to learn. Parents also receive information and/or referrals from these community partners, as well as the Readiness on the Road staff, for any additional health, educational, and/or social services needed.
Translation Services
Translation is available for Spanish, Vietnamese, and Korean speaking families. Although we have no eligibility requirements, priority is given to families with the most need (ex: need parenting skills training, have a child with special needs, cannot afford preschool, etc).
